This is another one that looks way better in person. There’s a lot of spindly watercolor stuff that doesn’t show up.
There are some things about this I don’t totally love, like the featherish/leaf things, but I do really like this one on the whole. It’s also the one where I really kind of figured things out.
I suppose I should note that I’m not uploading these in the order they were created… But in kind of a conceptual order.
They were all sort of finished at once anyways…

Doing two right now… Since there were some days I didn’t put anything up.
This was originally supposed to be a study… But I really liked it and so did my teacher, so it went into the final series. I remember having a lot of fun with the watercolor and getting that effect. But I don’t really remember exactly how I did do it…

I had kind of originally intended to do more on this… But people liked it the way it was, and I did too, so I left it.
It’s kind of about seeing something in your mind that is really beautiful, but being unable to draw it properly… Among other things.

Ouufff… This one is about 80 inches long… It’s a pain to carry around. But I do really like it. And it was a lot of fun to make. In the future I want to do more really long things.

I’ve had pictures of the stuff that I did for honors art 3 sitting on my computer for a while. But instead of doing a huge dump like I did with all my stuff when I first got a tumblr, I’ll upload them one or two a day or something…
Sorry about the blurry photos… This one’s particularly bad, since there is a lot of detail in the pencil and watercolor that doesn’t show up.
I don’t know what to call this series. or this piece. It’s also a lot harder to explain with out sounding crazy then the last one… Maybe I’l put my artist statement up, since I was sort of coherent in that.
I’m just going to call it the “monster series”.
I’m not as fond of this one as I was… I really like parts of it, but other parts bug me… Like I wish I had painted the girl a little differently, and certain aspects of the composition bug me as well…
But I like my monsters.

Ugh… Awful photo quality… Though it’s partially the paintings fault this time. On of my biggest problems was this was that there wasn’t enough tone contrast… Which I think is a problem of mine… I either have way too much contrast, or not enough…

Anyways… this is the last piece in this part of the series… I did another ten pieces focusing on the destruction of this world for my summer assignment. But it will probably be a while before I can photograph those…

If people are interesting more in my process, both conceptual and technical, I could post my end of the year essay… But I sound a little crazy…

Another cutout…

I ended up liking the color on this one more, but the big lines are not so good… They make it too static…

I did a digital series piece, kind of just to see how it would work…
I think it would have looked better if I didn’t go quite so crazy with colors… Which I think was sort of a problem with this series…

This is a terrible photo…

These were sort of break through pieces in a way for me… It was very odd to cut them out… But it made me way happier than it should have…
